Spain is known for its fantastic wines, but the country's laws on drinking and driving are strict. The blood alcohol limit is 0.5 grams per litre, which is roughly equivalent to two glasses of wine. Exceeding this limit can result in penalties starting at 300 euros, and more severe violations could cost you 600 euros, your driver's licence, or if you're a Spanish driver, 6 points from your licence.
